Tacos are a go-to meal around here. You can easily add taco seasoning to leftover shredded chicken, beef, beans, and even fish – it’s a quick and easy way to use leftover meat and still have a full meal for the family.
This taco seasoning is our favorite. We’ve used it for years and love that it doesn’t include cornstarch (those with candida need to avoid starches) and other additives that raise red flags for those who need to be gluten-free.
Homemade Taco Seasoning (gluten-free, candida-diet)
4 Tbs. chili powder
2 Tbs. cumin
1 Tbs. celtic sea salt
1 Tbs. black pepper
2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
Directions:
1. Combine all spices and mix thoroughly.
2. Use 2 Tablespoons per pound of meat.
Note: 2 Tablespoons equal one store-bought taco seasoning package.

I have just recently learned that I have a food sensitivity to chili pepper. How can one make a good taco seasoning without chili powder? I was so bummed, tacos are one of our favorites.
A friend of mine writes at Worth Cooking and she has a recipe you might be able to try: http://www.worthcooking.net/taco-seasoning-mix/
Thank you so much. I am anxious to give it a try.
Check out cheftessbakeresse.blogspot.com and look up homemade taco seasoning. She does not have chili powder in hers. 🙂
