Homemade Pizza Sauce – so good you’ll never buy store-bought again!

DIY homemade pizza sauce by WholeIntentions.comIf you could choose one meal to eat repeatedly Рwhat would it be?

Pizza would get the sweeping vote at our house. It’s not uncommon for us to have pizza once a week – usually on family night when we’re watching a movie or playing board games. Or on a Sunday afternoon when the football game is on. And sometimes on a night I just didn’t feel like doing much in the kitchen. Or. . .well, you get the point. We don’t really need a reason to have pizza. ūüôā

In the old days (a.k.a. before gluten allergies) we made¬†a dry-yeast¬†crust with whole wheat flour. After we learned about Travis’s allergy to gluten¬†we changed it to¬†Gluten-Free, Casein-Free Pizza Crust.¬†Then, when candida became a known player in our health, we exchanged the gluten-free crust for our current favorite:¬†One-Ingredient Sourdough Pizza Crust.

But no matter which crust we’ve used, we¬†always use the same¬†homemade pizza sauce. This is a family favorite, and super easy to throw together.

Homemade Pizza Sauce (gluten-free, candida-diet) (for 2 crusts)
6 oz. tomato paste
1 c. water
1 T. dried onion

3/4 t. celtic sea salt
1/2 t. oregano
1/4 t. pepper

Directions:
1. Whisk ingredients together with wire whisk.

2. Spoon about 3/4 c. sauce per pizza crust.
